What you can request

Aged care gardening that starts with the actual job

A short enquiry can come from the older person, family, representative, care partner or registered aged care provider. We first review the essential light gardening requirement and local capacity, then confirm the provider and service arrangements needed.

Across Melbourne, the initial request can come from the older person, family, care partner or registered provider. We then match the authorised light-gardening scope against local capacity.

The Support at Home program is accessed through My Aged Care. Eligible gardening sits under Home maintenance and repairs – Gardening and is intended to support safety and access. It can include essential light mowing, pruning or yard clearance, but not landscaping, tree removal or purely cosmetic gardening. Client contributions may apply, and funded work must be arranged through a registered aged care provider; Mercando does not present itself as My Aged Care approved.
